Dear SCS Families,
As we approach the beginning of school, I wish to provide you with information that you will find
helpful. Please do not delete this email because I have included the school calendar and
before/after school registration information.

We welcome the following staff to St. Charles:
Preschool 3- Mrs. Jessica Fresneda
Grade 2- Mrs. Mary Jane McDonagh
Grade 4- Mrs. Julie Maher
Families of students who have Mrs. Fresneda, Mrs. McDonagh or Mrs. Maher received welcome
letters from them via email.
I am confident we will have a Physical Education and social studies teacher by the end of the
week. I continue to interview candidates for the music position.

School Nurse- Mrs. Mary Hart, who served as our school nurse each Monday since last spring,
will be here each day from 9:15 am-1:15 pm. We are grateful to Board Member, Margaret
Pinkham, for securing a Catholic Health Foundation Grant to increase our hours of nursing
coverage. We are grateful to Mrs. Sarah Irvine for her service to the school during a challenging
eighteen months!

Gala- The Evening of Excellence Gala will be Friday, October 14, at the Knights of Columbus in
Woburn. Please save the date! I will share opportunities of how you may support this event in a
separate email.

Lunch- Students in Kindergarten through Grade 4 will resume lunch in the cafeteria this year. I
am awaiting specific lunch information from Woburn Public Schools.

Used Uniform Sale- The Used Uniform Sale is August 18 and August 25 in the school
gymnasium. All items are $3. Cash and checks will be accepted.

Before and After School Program- I have attached a packet to this email from Mrs. Paula
Silveira and Ms. Serena McNary, our Before and After School Coordinators. In the packet you
will find the policy, registration form, and September calendar. Please direct questions to Mrs.

Cross Country Team- We hope to have a cross country team this fall. This would be offered to
students in Grades 5-8. Students would practice two (2) days per week and would have a
couple of meets as the season progresses. We would compete with local Catholic schools. If
your student is interested in participating, please email Ms. Monica Faiellla at
[email protected] by August 25. If you have some experience coaching and wish to
serve as a volunteer coach, please email me at [email protected].
