Since 1889, Mission Grammar has been providing a faith-based learning community committed to celebrating the gifts of each child. In a society characterized by diversity, Mission Grammar commits itself to inspire in each student a desire to build just and enriching relationships. The entire school community works to develop a deep prayer life, a commitment to helping others, and an eagerness to spread the message of Christ. Planted in Catholic roots, the school helps children grow in a learning community celebrating the Word of the Gospel. Mission Statement Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Mission Grammar School is an urban, college prep Catholic school dedicated to reaching individual excellence in a faith-based community rooted in Gospel values. The strength of a school is in its community. Families, the administration, faculty, staff, and scholars work in partnership to accomplish and strengthen academic and social success. Program Highlights Mission Grammar School, Saint Patrick's, and Cathedral High School have formalized a collaborative, the Catholic Urban Partnership, in order to create an improved Infant - College education model for children in the city of Boston, better preparing graduates for college and leadership in the 21st century. The Catholic Urban Partnership Boston provides a pathway for scholars from infants through 12th grade. In 2017, Mission Grammar became the first Catholic elementary school in Boston to welcome infants and toddlers. This innovative model provides an urban Catholic pathway to college and beyond for families beginning with children at just three months. With a growing early childhood center, the school lays a strong foundation with a focus on supporting families and providing a high quality experience. In 2014, Mission Grammar was selected to join the Ashoka changemaker school network - a national community of leading elementary schools that serve as models for cultivating the skills of empathy, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills (changemaker skills) in students. The school also has a partnership with the Achievement Network (ANet), an education nonprofit that supports schools in accelerating student learning with great teaching that is grounded in standards, informed by data, and built on the successful practice of educators around the country. Testimonial “Our daughter has been incredibly happy at Mission Grammar, and we have loved watching her grow both academically and socially. We initially chose the school because we were looking for a vibrant, diverse, creative, and supporting preschool environment for her, which Mission Grammar provides. Our favorite component of the school is the sense of community - we feel like we're not just sending her to preschool, but rather our family has become a part of a caring and supportive community, which has enabled our daughter to thrive.” - Jaime M.
